If not for those two items, it would be a solid 5 stars.
Since the worst of Covid seems to have passed and the facility seems pretty packed most days, I would hope they would invest in some new carpeting and mattresses for their rooms. The comps are good, as we both receive free rooms and food credits, along with the occasional free gift. The food and service at Kankakee grill is top notch. I have both won and lost money in the casino as a regular gambler. Choose from one of 415 luxury rooms, suites or Celebrity suites all with our impeccable guest service and special touches. Four Winds hotel is more than a place to stay. The folks working the bell desk are also helpful. Four Winds New Buffalo features more than 130,000-square feet of gaming (66 table games and 3,000 slots), covered parking garage with 2,200-spaces and four restaurants, including Kankakee Grille.
They will work hard to fulfill special requests. On the plus side, the front desk personnel are awesome. It makes no difference whether you stay in the old tower or new. The bed quality is highly variable, going from just okay to downright uncomfortable.
While the hotel rooms are always spotlessly clean, the carpet is old and dirty and there is not much to be done with that short of replacement. Since the casino has switched over to all non-smoking, my friend and I have been staying at this property at least once a month. I am a loyal, long time customer of this hotel and casino.
